During the artist research stay in Vadsø, spring 2022, I walked in the surrounding nature and residential areas of Vadsø.
One of these walks started in Komagvær, in Varangerhalvøya National Park and ended up at Vadsøya, by the old Sildolja factory.
The total distance of 45 km. Along the shore line and E75, the main transportaion road on the peninsula. Even if the walk was longsome, the types of landscapes shifted quickly and drifted into each other.
The landscape offers no clear boundery between bird or wildlife teretory, geological sites of measurable value (both for preservation and/or for extraction) Sami herritage sites and cultivation of land, or what seemes to be the untouched nature itself.
